P3TP convertor is a source of electrical energy intended for a 28 VDC electrical power system of small aircrafts. The whole system consists of turboprop (TP100) or turboshaft (TS100) engine, which drives the three-phase highspeed generator its output is converted by the P3TP convertor to 28 VDC with the power of up to 3 kW. P3TP is designed to be used with generator and engine (TP100 / TS100) produced by the company PBS Velká Bíteš, a.s., Czech Republic.
Basic features:
-
SMPS control based on analog circuit design (no SW involved in power generation functionality; SW partly involved in monitoring and CAN communication),
-
output power limitation according to engine’s speed,
-
cooled by the airflow of the suck air of the engine,
-
constant current at overload (current limitation),
-
controls the external contactor (disconnects the convertor from DC BUS in case of failure),
-
monitoring – light indicators plus CAN communication,
-
output voltage complies with MIL-STD-704F standard,
-
environmental resistance compliant with RTCA DO-160G standard.

-
all important data are transmitted to CAN,
-
light indication if voltage not sufficient for battery charging,
-
light indication if over-loaded,
-
light indication if convertor off or disconnected.
